I know my xanga is pretty much deserted, but for the anti-facebook people, i've added pictures from our latest trip to Mendocino (it's the county just north of Sonoma):

I should have put this up a long time ago.

For those who didn't make it to our wedding (or even for those who did) .. here are some proofs of our wedding day that you can look through.

hello again... i'm posting again.  a lot has happened in the past what... 1.5 years since my last post?  almost 2 years.. haha.

I graduated (finally)

I got married (wow)

I got a job (finally!)

Ruth and I took a short trip before I started work... we really wanted to go to Mendocino at first because my cousin keeps recommending it.. but things came up and we'll have to delay that trip.  We went to santa cruz/monterey instead, and stayed in bed and breakfasts for 2 nights.  it was pretty nice overall, except for 2 crappy parts:

1. the first B&B was LAME.  pushy, overcharged us, and crappy service overall.

2. during a hike, ruth got stung by a wasp.  first time ever for her, so it was kinda traumatic =\

On the other hand, we really liked the 2nd B&B, called the Gosby house.  Phil's fish market also gets 2 big thumbs up from us.  super fresh seafood, big portions.  expensive, but actually decently priced relative to other seafood of this caliber.

I also recommend the Forest of Nisene Marks.   A small little state park off the 1 Hwy on the way out of Santa Cruz down towards Monterey.  Really peaceful and nice.

and i just like this pic of horsetails:

We stopped at Gayle's bakery in Capitola after hearing my parents rave about it over and over.  it's nice, but we were a bit underwhelmed by the cold food.  otherwise, great place to go as well.

You can check out more pics from our trip at http://www.flickr.com/photos/victoryay/.  They're grouped in the "latest pics" set, but that may change so check em while they're there!

I know.. if it wasn't for the proposal post, you guys would probably think i fell off the face of the earth.
transitioning to graduate school at irvine threw me off, i think.  and ever since then i've been getting more and more out of it... but i'm getting on AIM more.. and hopefully, we'll be seeing more posts here.   here's pics from a rock climbing trip i went on during the MLK Jr. holiday:

Not the most exciting pictures, but the rest can be found here.

It's gonna be a busy quarter...  trying to finish my thesis by June, which means getting results within the next few months....  plus TAing, planning for wedding, tutoring... aaack.

hopefully after june though, i can graduate and move back up to the bay.  i'll be looking for a job up north, at least until ruth is done.  after that, who knows....  maybe back to orange county?  i like it here, for the most part.  lots of good biomedical companies, anyway. =)
